Living near Montréal in Québec, Jean Zakarauskas (Zak) confirms his talent for drawing from an early age. He studied graphic design, art and art history . Painter, illustrator and sculptor, he explores different mediums such as pencil, charcoal, colored pencil, pastel, watercolor, ink, gouache, air brush, photography, sculpture in wood, polyurethane and neon tube. Zak offers a different perspective on the silent world of flowers,  flowers symbolize the ephemeral and the skies, the eternal. There is a touch of Georgia O’Keefe in solitary giant flowers painted by Zak.. The flowers are inspired for most of its photographs taken in macro. Another world can be seen through the lens, a world as seen by insects, birds or simply through the eyes of a child who discovers intensely the present moment. The flowers can express many emotions, by the intensity of colors and movements. As for the skies, open to the fullness, whirlpools of energy, sometimes stormy, feverish, sometimes calm and serene, they offer endless possibilities. Painting, moments of pure delight were music, colors and movements embrace freely. These moments are its creative ”personal”  that is what he wants to share with the viewer…Time is a concern, trough art, it disappears, both for the painter as for the viewer,  taking time” to look and feel …
